Prior to the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the latest stage of development of the publishing and printing industry was modeled on new models of economic development – digital economy, accompanied by informatization, digitalization, digitalization and technological change, and circular economy, in terms of greening and recycling. . At the same time, the manifestation of the need for transformations of both production technologies and product modernization contributed to the search for a new organizational model of cooperation. The Cluster of Printing Industry, Publishers and Digital Technologies (founded in 2020, headed by Natalia Isayeva) has become such a new “living organism”.
The common task of the Cluster participants was to increase the level of competitiveness of publishing and printing enterprises of Dnipropetrovsk region on the basis of the concept of Industry 4.0 and adaptability to market changes taking into account the temporal requirements of the market. Methods of intellectualization, digitalization, industrial marketing, market adaptability were chosen as an important approach to increase the competitiveness of business partners.
The peculiarity of the functioning of enterprises that form the publishing and printing complex of Dnipropetrovsk region is the diversity of their activities, differentiation not only by type of printing services, but also by type of economic activity – these are publishing houses and enterprises engaged in distribution of printed products.
Infrastructure development, system management, digitalization of production processes – the foundation of development. But there is another key component – building the right communication. In this context, it became important for the Cluster to use an innovative tool – creating a full-fledged film about the Cluster, studying the environment of printing companies, the specifics of the industry.
Implementation of the joint plan was made possible by the cluster project “Professional Alternative Dnipro”, implemented under the EU4Business program: competitiveness and internationalization of SMEs co-financed by the European Union and the German government through a German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ Ukraine) GmbH.
So, on May 27, 2022, the Cluster of Printing Industry, Publishing and Digital Technologies “Polygraphy: Logistics, Service, Quality” presented to the general public an informational and educational video about the possibilities and features of the printing cluster in Dnipropetrovsk region.

As cluster development is a relatively new topic for Ukrainian government officials and cluster members, the video sheds light on important success factors in cluster development and begins to share experiences with colleagues from other local communities. The video promotes the idea of increasing the prestige of the publishing and printing industry and the cluster approach.
